The IPL fever

The Indian Premier League has arrived and it is here to stay. It all started with a bang, the Kolkata Knight Riders starting off in rollicking fashion and winning over the Bangalore Royal Challengers in an emphatic manner. However much has happened since then with the Knight riders looking down the wrong end of the barrel and the Royal Challengers already set for an early exit from the tournament. Readers must be thinking , "Oh come on, what bullshit ! All these are known !" However, the point of this post is not to criticise or appreciate teams but to appreciate the concept of IPL as a whole and why it is supposed to stay in the long run.
First and foremost, the other day, I found myself supporting Umar Gul while he was bowling to an Indian batsman. I doubt, whether I would have done it ever before. So, what IPL has done is it has brought forward the spirit of universal brotherhood and kinship which is rare by any standards. The quality of cricket is awesome with all the big guns firing on all cylinders (barring Sachin). It has brought to light some of the young talents of the country who were unheard of, at least for people like me. The competition is immense. And last but not the least the camaraderie shown by the players irrespective of race, religion, caste, creed, nationality is worth more than mere appreciation.

Hey today is strike !

Well friends, another of those days when you just feel... why do I need to get up at 4 AM in the morning, half awake, crouching towards the window to see a glimpse of the blue.. err.. black sky, still brooding over the fact and wishing if I could have slept a bit more. But alas !
Destiny is something else !
So I get up, catch a glimpse of my parents who have rose long before me and only for me and take inspiration. If they can do it for me, can't I do it for myself?
I feel lethargic, take a long walk towards the washroom, get the morning activities done. Nope, you are wrong I did not bath. Come on, not at 4.30 AM in the morning!
Next, I prepare myself for a long day at the office, still don't know whether I would be returning home in the evening.
Now, why am I writing all this.. yeah what's the point !
The point is: Time and time again, why do people call strikes? What's the use?
Disrupting public life is no way of gaining support. People would not come out from their homes because nowadays no one wants to get into unnecessary trouble ! It is never that they support BANDHS!
Remember this is irrespective of who are calling it and what is the issue !
Unfortunately we are few of those unfortunate ones, who have to venture outside !
